This is going to be Minnesota’s next “New” Resort!
MNRS #1960375

Click to see a short clip of this resort

This Resort sits on 40 acres in Aitkin County, and has approximately 600’ +/- of lakeshore on the south shore of Glacier Lake. Glacier is a smaller, 135 acre lake, but the majority of the lake is surrounded by State or Federal lands & there is only one small private cabin on the lake besides the Resort. The Resort actually shares a property line with Minnesota’s Savannah State Forest and Park. The fishing is very good as we have heard from some staff members we talked to. This property that we are currently offering, was another in the stable of beautiful locations available to provide the retreats. The camp was not used for any camps in 2017, so the organization decided to put it on the market. The property has been fully maintained all year by their staff. To learn more about the mission of True Friends, we encourage you to visit their website:

The land that the Resort sits on is a mix of heavy woods, open green spaces & a lot of hiking trails throughout the upper areas of the property. As you will see in the satellite view, the Resort is using approximately 25% of the land. There is plenty of room to add additional amenities, perhaps some primitive campsites or some RV sites with hook-ups.

As we walked this property, we were amazed at the amount of cement sidewalks that exist. We believe that this is due to that fact that many of the visitors to the Resort perhaps used wheelchairs. There are literally 1000’s of feet of sidewalks throughout the property, including in the deep woods…it is an incredible effort that was put forth many years ago to build this operation.

There is also evidence of many older building sites, but we’ve been unable to find any research as to how and when this property was developed. It is apparent that some of the sidewalks were put in place perhaps in the 1950’s of even earlier.

The Lodge is a massive 2 story building that overlooks the lake through a grove of huge, tall pines. The lower level is a walkout from the game room that leads to the sidewalk heading down to the lake. The upper main level, has a huge open conference room that seats up to 150 guests. Also on the main level is a fully furnished, commercial kitchen, office, restrooms, tone of storage units, and several utility rooms. It is a vaulted ceiling that is extremely impressive when you are standing in there! The Lodge is a year round use building and has so many potential uses once this property becomes a Resort!

The Resort has 3 huge cabins that are equipped to be open all year long. All 3 have sufficient heating and construction to be open in the Winter. The cabins are named “Glacier Ridge”,
“Panther Point” and “Eagles Nest”. Both Glacier Ridge & Panther Point have in-floor, slab heat via electric mats installed in the concrete. Eagles Nest has a forced air furnace with central air conditioning. All 3 of these cabins are set up in the same manner…they each have 6 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 1 double shower room, a 3 basin sink area near the bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen & a large common area / living room.

The Resort also has 2 cabins for seasonal use. These cabins are called “Lion’s Den” and the “Nurse’s Building”. The Lion’s Den is a 2 bedroom that has a bathroom on the lower level with 1 bedroom & a loft in the upper that is wide open and has several beds in it. The Nurse’s Building was used for just that…it was a building used to assist clients in need of minor medical attention. This building could be converted to a cabin rental with some minor repair and construction.

Many other structures are scattered throughout the areas on this property. There are several “open-air” pavilions, 4 “Camper Cabins” that are approximately 8’x8’ single room buildings with screened sides and roll down canvas sides. Each of these have 4 bunk beds in them.
There is also a large shower house that has 3 showers on each side and large outside sink basins attached to the exterior wall.
There are 2 “Dome” buildings as well. These were used as activity centers for the clients. Known as the “Art Dome” & the “Nature Building”, each has an open lower level and a loft.

At the lower level of the property sits “Savanna Ridge”. This is the Directors home / Owners home. This is a 2 story with a lower level walk out. The main level consists of 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. The lower level also has 2 bedrooms and a ¾ bath. There is a forced air furnace with central air, and this is also a year round building / home.
In this location there is also a 40’x70’ pole building. The entire building has a concrete floor, 3 tall overhead doors, and within the building there is a heated single stall garage & a heated workshop. There is also a large loft / storage area with stairs.

Glacier Lake is a beautiful, small, deep Lake that has incredible fishing. We suspect because there is no public access. The fish react to basically anything that gets dropped in front of their nose. To learn more about this gem of a lake, please visit this DNR website:

There is a sandy swimming beach that is actually contained inside the floating dock system. Also there are some canoes, a fishing boat, 2 pontoons, a paddleboat & plenty of water toys and other water equipment.
